Using the participle like an adjective puts the focus on the perfective aspect: He is born = he is in the state of completed birth. If you to focus on the action of giving birth, you'll have to use a true passive (which also happens to be "he is born" in English). In Jovian, it's |ix nade| [iS na:d] vs |fi nade| [fi na:d]. -- Christian Thalmann
