Could be interesting! Well, are you familiar with the Wenedyk GMP on my website? It it divided into two phases: one from Vulgar Latin to Old Wenedyk (which, for the sake of convenience, may be treated as an equivalent of Common Slavic); and one from Old to Modern Wenedyk. In the case of Slezan, it's quite simple really: phase 1 of the Wenedyk GMP can be used here too, and for the rest it's just a matter of applying the changes for which I made a rough outline on the site. In general, Slezan sound changes are simpler than the Wenedyk ones. Of course, if you are really interested, I can make a more "complete" chart... Now that I think of it, even if you aren't I might do that anyway! :)) > > Bon zrn! - Good morning! > > What's the origin of the root _zrn_ ? Christian was right: from "diurnus". The transformation is more or less regular: _diurnum_ > _*djr.nU_ (_r._ = syllabic _r_) > _*dzrn_ > _zrn_. _drn_ would possible too, but in this case I definitely prefer _zrn_. It also fits better with Wenedyk (f.ex. _azarnar_ "to have breakfast"). > > Da now edze noszt pa kodzan. > > Isn't the right form _edzie_ in W. spelling? Ha, you caught me on an error! Well, let's see: L. _hodie:_ > O.W. _*hUdje_ > _*hUdze_. In Wenedyk, this gives _hedzej_ (actually, regular would be _*hdzej_, but this would be indistinguishable from _dzej_ "day"). In Slezan, initial _h_ disappears. So we get _*Udze_ and then perhaps _edz_. Bleach! I though in this case it would be more elegant to have _edze_, which in Wenedyk spelling would be _edzie_ indeed! You are absolutely right! I shall make the correction soon, unless you have a better idea.
