Nora also opines that the inner quantifier of loi is NOT necessarily the same as the inner quantifier of lo'i, disagreeing with me (and she convinces me). The supervisor who does not physically carry the piano could be part of loi/lei pipnybevri, but they would NOT be lo pipnybevri, and hence not members of lo'i pipnybevri.
But the example doesn't use {lei pipnybevri}. We have: lei ci nanmu cu bevri le pipno Let's say that the three men are abu, by and cy. One of them is the supervisor if you like. They are all members of {le'i ci nanmu}. Now, {abu bevri le pipno} is false, {by bevri le pipno} is false and {cy bevri le pipno} is also false, because none of the three men carries the piano by himself. We do not have a {le'i ci bevri be le pipno}, a set of three such that each carries the piano. We have a single {le bevri be le pipno}, the team that carries the piano, a team that consists of three men. {le'i pa pipnybevri} has a single member, the team. The supervisor is not a member, but neither are each of the other two men. The supervisor is in no way special in {lei ci nanmu}. mu'o mi'e xorxes _________________________________________________________________Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
