And Latin was well enough incompreghensible to the Greeks at one time... Or is French not derived from Latin because I don't understand spoken French? ;-) Latin was a normal language like all others, not more ligical or perfect in any way. The Latin philosophers had big problems because their language did not have a definite article like Greek. The prestige has come from social, political and religious reasons, not from its linguistic qualities. If you want that the Romance peoples to understand each other better, propagate for the French to learn Italian or Spanish! For the record, Rhodrese is comfortable to me, or I would not have created it! /Benct -- /BP 8^)> -- Benct Philip Jonsson -- melroch at melroch dot se "And therefore every care must be taken that our auxiliaries, being stronger than our citizens, may not grow to be too much for them and become savage tyrants instead of friends and allies." -- Plato (The Republic, Book 3, 416b)
