So, how'd it turn out for the poor confused Abellans.

It was something to do with who had claim on rebuilding a sanctuary situated on the towns' mutal border. The mediator was Rome (Nola and Abella being Rome's allies) who said that they had to play nicely together :)

I googled for the text and the top hit was <http://home.tiscali.be/ mauk.haemers/collegium_religionis/cipab.htm>, with transcription, translation, and some notes. Gotta love Oscan: it looks so weird and un-classical! :) No mention of hazelnuts, though!
