I am just now becoming aware of how distinct Vulgar Latin and Classical Latin probably were, and this has made me curious about something. Since all Romance natlangs are based on Vulgar Latin, are there any Romance conlangs that are based on Classical Latin?
I've been thinking of actually basing a conlang or two off _Neolatin_ vocabulary, possibly with the same sound changes that another Romlang went through. Recently I derived English reflexes of "nudius tertius" and "perendie" for utility reasons (the results were "nusterce" and "perenge"). A fun exercise. . . I think it'd be cool to see technical terms as fully naturalized terms instead of Latinizing ones. *Muke! -- website: http://frath.net/ LiveJournal: http://kohath.livejournal.com/ deviantArt: http://kohath.deviantart.com/ FrathWiki, a conlang and conculture wiki: http://wiki.frath.net/
