There is of course Meyer-Lübke's "Romanisches Etymologisches
Wörterbuch", though it might be hard to find in Leftpondia.
Also it can't normally be bought for money.  I was fortunate
to find and old edition in an antiquarian bookshop for the 
equivalent of 40 euros.  There is an index of reflexes in the
modern languages, so if anyone wants a French word looked up...
