Heh... the only possible ancestor of |piaramieÅ?szymie| I can find is _peramoenissimus_, "the most pleasant"... which has just spawned the Jovian word |prawoenu| [pr@'vAjn] "comfortable, luxurious, enjoyable, very pleasant". > > > 10. both > > > We'd both do the same. > > Nosz wÄ?bu faczerzym iÅ? soÅ?. |SoÅ?|? > Question for Christian: > > > Bone u wigu ix sae u fonde nys rixa. > > [bo:n @ vi:gz iS saj @ fAnd ny riS] > ^ > Where does the [z] in [vi:gz] come from? Or is it a typo? It's the form of sandhi known as "resistance". In Old Jovian |wiga| and |wigu| would both have sounded like ['vi:g@], though they cause different mutations and suffer from different sandhi. In particular, when followed by a vowel, |wiga| would elide into [vi:g] while the lost /s/ from Latin _-us_ in |wigu| would "resist" the elision and appear as a liaison, as in French: ['vi:g@z]. In Modern Jovian, the schwa ending has fallen away, but the [z] still remains before vowels. The same goes for the ending -is appearing in the pronouns |is| and |nis|: |is timmur| [i 'timm@r] "the fear" |is ammur| [iz 'amm@r] "the love" |nis docturs| [ni 'dAxt@rs] "to the doctors" |nis augadi| [niz o'ga:di] "to the lawyers" -- Christian Thalmann
