Borderline cases like {zo djan} make good examples: (1) ko'a ciska pa zo djan ro papri be le cukta He wrote one "John" on every page of the book. FALSE, unless he somehow carved it so that every page was affected, but even then it would be false that each page by itself was the medium. (2) ko'a ciska [tu'o] zo djan ro papri be le cukta He wrote "John" on every page of the book. TRUE, the Kind "John" was written on every page. (3) ko'a ciska fi ro papri be le cukta be'o fe pa zo djan He wrote on each page of the book one "John". TRUE, but much more inconvenient than (2), and not at all necessary, given that usually we are not interested in distinguishing different avatars of the name "John". We can of course be that explicit when needed. mu'o mi'e xorxes __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo. http://search.yahoo.com
