John: > And says I take "nu" to mean not "event" but "kind of event". I do not > "nu" means "event", but doesn't say whether the event actually occurs > in this world, merely that it occurs in some possible world: it is > well-formed as an event, but not necessarily existent This is exactly what I mean by "kind of event" (in a semi-technical sense of 'Kind (of)', that I have been trying to remember to capitalize). A Kind of snake is well-formed as a snake, but not necessarily existent (in this spacetime). Any Kind of snake or event exists abstractly, so long as you can conceive of it. In Excellent Solution 4.0, {Q lo nu} = SL {Q lo nu} and {Q loi nu} = {Q lo fasnu je nu}. {Q lo -detective} = Kind of Mr Detective, & covers Holmes. {Q loi -detective} = actual worldly instance of Mr Detective, & doesn't cover Holmes. --And.
