I disagree with them. I think (lojbanmass: the beatles) speni yoko is true. Of course, "piro (lojbanmass: the beatles)" would be false, and I think you should keep in mind that xorxes/And are confused about the default outer quantifiers for the mass gadri.
Let's see. Would you say these two have the same or different
meanings:
(1) ro le ci nanmu cu citka pisu'o lei ci plise
Each of the three men eats some of the three apples.
(2) pisu'o lei ci plise cu se citka ro le ci nanmu
Some of the three apples is eaten by each of the three men.
and compare with:
(3) ro le ci nanmu cu citka picira'e lei ci plise
Each of the three men eats a third of the three apples.
(4) picira'e lei ci plise cu se citka ro le ci nanmu
A third of the three apples is eaten by each of the three men.
I would say that (1) and (3) are compatible with:
(5) piro lei ci nanmu cu citka piro lei ci plise
The whole of the three men eat the whole of the three apples.
while (4) is incompatible with (1), (3) and (5). Would you agree?
Also (2) and (4) are compatible but somewhat disgusting.
(I want to be sure whether we agree what the outer quantifiers
mean before we discuss how confused I might be about them.)
