[9] seems like an odd choice of vowel to me; do you mean [2] or are
you using a different ASCII IPA system from me?

(As I understand it, [2] : [e] :: [9] : [E].)

Or are you using /e/ for something in the [e]~[E] area and /9/ for
something in the [2]~[9] area?

Still, the choice of symbols seemed a bit odd to me.
