The expense of a syllable would be enough to cause people to avoid using
extremely useful affixes like "bery". This happened to Lojban's "fi'o"
(Ceqli "ho").

Considering that it will already be the case that some pinvor (smalvor?)
will have affix versions and others won't, it hardly seems any more
inconsistent to vary the consonant as necessary. This is a bit of a
reversal from my original position. 

But if there's going to be a single consonant that is always attached,
it might as well be q.
