For material as technical as grammar, I can usually manage French. :) But, yes, I think I need to start with less costly sources. On the other hand, I haven't yet tracked down any new or used copies of the Hoffman book for sale. :P What little I've been able to discover about it, though, makes it look like an excellent resource, with numerous comparative examples with Vedic, etc.
