I've just forgotten to add vowel characters in haste! > BTW would you mind spelling cim as ĉim, or my poor > brain will definitely confuse it with ċade constantly! :) Technically nothing prevents to do this (ĉ is a part of Latin-3), but OTOH /tS/ is found only in the Romance words, where it reflects Latin palatalized /k/, as in _cera_ 'wax', _cielo_ 'sky', _cinko_ 'five', as in Italian. This pronunciation is peculiar to real Mozarabic, so I decided to keep it. Also, in this case, letter _c_ remains not used. But I have nothing against ĉ, if it is easier for people! > BTW is there any difference (other than stress?) > between fatha and fatha alef? AFAIK, none. But I can consider ascribing [6] value to fatha, à la Portuguese. > Some modern > Andalucian dialects *here* have developed an > /æ/ sound in [æ] < [ah] < /as/. Hmm. No. Plural -s ending is alive in Ajami. Btw, how did they exactly call Andalucia in Arabic? -- Yitzik
