No conhistorical explanation for this fact yet. I'm afraid this scheme may have appeared only in OTL, but for now the project belongs to an alt TL verrry different from ours, since the period of departure was in 718-732AD! Surely it may be changed. No QSS in conlanging! > Imagine the polemics between President Mohammed Falavi and > Islamist leader Nasrollah Fabriz! LOL :)) Modern Ajami world, as I see it, is less heathen than *our* Europe, but also less religious than the Islamic world *here*. I think a good word for describing leading civilized countries *there* is "post-Islamic". > >I don't think I'll ever expose Ajami GMP to the public. But I hope I'll soon present here > >(and/or in Romconlang) a preliminary release of Ajami grammar sketch > >(version 0.4). > > And this grammar will contain no historical phonology? :( Oh yes, it will! But not too much details. The whole process of creating Ajami is extremely intriguing for me. The whole concept of the lang clearly exists in my mind. All necessary elements are lying in various grammars and dictionaries. All I need is just to dig them out and put together like an archeologist or paleontologist! I use at least 20 books! But to write a cohesive grammar sketch needs so much time! And closer analysis provokes hard questions that need to be decided, like "Shall I keep 2mp verb forms at all?" or "What are spelling rules to distinguish between gaf-tagilo (*here*'s qaf U+0642) and gaf-h'afifo (*here*'s gaf / kaf with a stroke U+06AF)?" So I'm in process. Now I've started already version 0.4 (still pre-release), reconsidering many things once again, esp. after I've found some material about N.African Arabic dialects that, e.g., made me to decide the fate of _theh_ and _thal_ > t, d. A sad but realistic and objective decision. With best wishes, -- Yitzik
