The Berbers, who formed the backbone of the Marinid state, were 
often Shi'a or even only vaguely Islamic. Besides, both Catholics 
and Protestants settled the new world *here*. I never said that only 
one Islamic dynasty was involved in the settlement of Islamic 
al-Wiraniyya.
