Is 'pliada' created from '*plattus' with no rule?
No, it was created from **PLATA according to the rules!
I don't know what "botched up" means.
'pfuschen', or 'verpfuschen' if that exists.
Is 'pliada' feminine?
Yes. PLATTUS is an adjective and PLATTA was a nominalization, surely originally an adjective modifying I don't know which feminine noun.
For my language I would create 'blatos'. I am not sure if the full form should have 'us' or 'os'. Most people would say 'blats' or use a schwa.
So it essentially comes down to how Latinizing the orthography wants to be?
In some words following 'u' or 'i' leads to an umlaut.
Does that umlaut result in front rounded vowels?
