With regards to Zinftetschen, I know exactly what you mean - with that word I can picture myself in a Konditorei so clearly I can almost smell the Kaffee.. I think perhaps the word for "Petit Four" will have to be "Little Temptation." I haven't really looked at any diminutives yet, but it seems it might be something like Zinftetschenei�. Obviously the sort of pastry that demands a small scoop of ice cream on the side!
