Boy and girl being such common words, Jovian has strayed a bit
from its otherwise rather faithful adherence to its classical
roots.

The standard word for boy is puobe [pu@b] < PUBES + Gmc "Bub",
with the archaic puore [pu@r] surviving only in Church songs
and the like.

The commonly used word for girl is maedel ['majd@l] < Gmc
"Mädel", which is not exclusively applied to children, though.
In informal usage, it can refer to females throughout the
sexual age as well, just like English "girl". Unlike puore,
the word puela [py@l] is still in active use today and refers
to female children exclusively.
