It is debent. On account of the verb being "should act".

These are only imperfect replacements at best. There are
dialects that retain at least kn. It will depend on the
peculiarities of Einglek as to whether it's digniteit or
diniteit. Note that the loss of gn in standard Englishes
only applies to initial gn-. Medial -gn-, such as the
above, remains cos it's two consonants on each side of a
syllable boundary rather than one consonant.
