Yes, chazan is the Hebrew term.  Punic was very
closely related to Hebrew, and not a lot survives
(though there is a lot more that I first thought).  If
Punic had this word it would likely have been the same
root chzn(?) and would produce something like 
caza/cheza/cazanu depending on how and which vowels
are inserted.

The Greek term might be nice giving the connection
with the book of Psalms.  But I haven't decided how to
deal with learned or semi-learned borrowings from Gk.
with initial PS yet.  C-a does seem to keep a lot of
Greek terms for Christian ideas in Donatist usage vs.
Latin terms on the Catholic side.
