Hello! My name is Kevyn, and I'm 15 years old. I live in BC, and I adore the beauty and cadence of the Romance languages, despite how after looking at the other posts, I'm not apt at creating a conlang with historical references; I'm also a conlang artist, or a glossopoet. I'm looking forward to enjoying this group, despite any homework that may bombard me in the future. I love languages; I've grown a sudden connection with them when I was 13 on a very boring summer. I am Filipino, so I do understand Tagalog (I can't string together sentences well though), and I'm learning French and Spanish at school. Out of school, I know how to read, write, and speak basic Esperanto, and I know conversational Japanese. I would like to learn either Portuguese or Italian, depending on my mood in the future, as well as Latin, Sanskrit, Hawai'ian, Mandarin/Korean, Indonesian, and maybe if any time, Lojban or Swahili. I like languages, though I tend to love the ones less spoken; I'll take Hawai'ian over Japanese any day, because of popularity. Some of my hobbies also include cultural activities (which I would like to learn about,) rollerblading, origami, religion (I used to be Wiccan, I was 'saved' in a Pentecostal church, and now I'm Catholic; I still love, enjoy and respect the beliefs of many religions) and that's it for my intro since it's getting longer. PS: What if the Roma spoke a Romance dialect, a pidgin you might say? That when they travelled, they had this dialect that would connect to other Roma in the Romance-spoken countries of Europe, yet with vocabulary from other countries and Romani? I'm creating a conlang based on this hypothesis, but as instead of something historical, my own artistic creation; a fusion of beauty that shows my appreciation for the Roma and the Romance languages. It's not an 'elite' thing, but is it conceivable? (historically anyways).
