Vocab exercises a while ago, not knowing where they were

I don't have anything like *re-usîre in my Classical Latin
dictionary, so I might as well steal it from early French:
|reosire| [rE'zi:r] or [,re@'zi:r] in careful speech. The
inflected forms (e.g. |reose| [re@z] "succeeds") are now
pretty far away from the original.

That would become |sutsiduver, -dudu| [,sutsi'du:v@r 'du:d].
However, I'm going to coin |uegarire| [yg@'ri:r] "substitute *
for +, replace * with +, have * stand in for +" from |uegaeru|
[y'gajr] "vicarious; replacement, ersatz, surrogate". (Where
* = ACC, + = OBL.) It has the nice property that its 3rd sg
form |uegaere| is homophonous with |uegaeru|.
