is "do you" and "if" really the same? i think there's missing

try it in esperanto:
"cxu vi scias cxu la vendoplaco estas malferma nokte?"  no difference, except in english.  "kibe" means more "is it true (possible) that..." rather than either "do you" or "if".
(and yes, it was me who commented on the weight of weight.)

i know that it's the same in esperanto. but in esperanto i understood that there is a "tell me" or "i want to know from you" implied. so, is in katanda also something implied? if yes, that would be strange, as katanda seems very explicit, doesn't it? :)
