The alternative, of course, is my beautiful and simple solution. About Nick's "solution" I offer a single phrase: Ptolemaic Astronomy.
Since I made up a Greek word "ptolemaioprepes" (Ptolemy-worthy) to dismiss a hypothesis in the paper I've just been writing: yeah, you got me.
I got three words for you, though: Jordan De Long. :-)Wiping the gadri and starting from scratch would be very nice indeed. And I believe it simply cannot happen. But we'll put our proposals up when the time comes, and let the mob decide the lesser of three evils (the third, of course, being status quo.)
