I think it has to be {le > du'u bajra cu > mutce} or {le nu bajra cu mutce}, not {le bajra cu mutce}. Supposedly the > function will change a broda into another predicate with the same argument > places as broda, so it is not obvious how to do it with a selbri. {lo'e du'u le xirma cu bajra cu mutce lo'e ka ce'u jetnu} exactly corresponds to the meaning of "very" that I am after. I don't insist on {jetnu} there -- replace it with a selbri meaning "(how much) the world would have to change for ce'u to become false", if that makes anyone happier. So I'm looking for a shorthand equivalent of {lo'e du'u ______ kei mutce lo'e du'u ce'u jetnu} and it must be distinct from ways of saying "X is sort-of the case, but close to being wholly the case". > > As for {va'e}, it probably has roles to play in both {jei} and > {ni}, and, in the > > former case, also in those complex comments. > > What would you say is the relationship between {piso'iva'e} and {mutce}, if > any? Does {so'iva'e} make any sense? You're asking pc, but here are my answers: What is the relationship between {piso'iva'e} and {mutce}, if any? In an ontology (is there a better term?) without thresholds between True and False, they mean the same thing. In an ontology with thresholds between True and False, they mean different things. We don't want ambiguity, so the question must be settled one way or the other. Does {so'iva'e} make any sense? In an ontology without thresholds between True and False, it makes no sense, unless it's merely an abbreviation for {pi so'i va'e}. In an ontology without thresholds between True and False, it makes sense, and would mean "very". --And.
