We have nearly eighty years of prototypes in the form of Loglans and Lojbans. If we have not gotten enough data from that to get a rather long way down the road -- at least to the point where we can build a reasonably substantial armature on which to hang a bunch of words, then this project is either premature or in the wrong hands. I don't see any reason to think either of these is the case.
