The real original:
"Lorsque j'avais six ans j'ai vu, une fois, une magnifique image, dans
un livre sur la Forêt Vierge qui s'appelait 'Histoires Vécues'"

Thank you.  Today I learned the French word "vécu".

My take:

"la fa le nnce ska'ake fa le je bnle pxre li pvi fi vska'ake; li je mi
slfra lsra je lo je clco rcfo psoki ckti lo nnroki hi"

"Being in years six I, a magnificent picture once saw I; called
Experienced Stories & being the virgin forest about & a book, in it I
did".

1.6. Okay, here's my aftertree version:

ji'a li nnci ska'aki so pvo fo le'i je nnra'ika je bnla'i pxra'i vska'aka'i; la je ma li lfri lsraki je li je clci rcfli psaki ckta hi
"While in years six was I, one time an inside-it grand picture saw I; the called Experiencers' Stories, wild forests about book it was.

This means exactly the same as:
la je ma li lfri lsraki je li je clci rcfli psaki ckta ji'a li nnci ska'aki so pvo fo le'i je nnra'ika je bnla'i pxra'i vska'aka'i.

Next two sentences:
http://www3.sympatico.ca/gaston.ringuelet/lepetitprince/chapitre01.html
"Ça représentait un serpent boa qui avalait un fauve. Voilà la copie du dessin."

http://home.pacific.net.hk/~rebylee/text/prince/1.html
"It was a picture of a boa constrictor in the act of swallowing an animal. Here is a copy of the drawing."

The E translation is a loose one. My attempt at Xb:

lo je rnjo fo la je li dnli tnlaki qbo'aqa sinxa'iko.  la tja la'i cskxra'i fkpaka'i.

"lo je rnjo fo" is my attempt at the imperfective mood.  Suggestions welcome.
