Is it necessary to make a distinction between 'young' and 'new', or is that an anglophone's prejudice? I currently have "gil" for "age" (from Hebrew), and derived from that, "pigil" young, and "gagil" old. I kind of think I do need to have a distinction, because

I bought a new dog. vs. I bought a young dog.

My gzb makes a three-way distinction between "new in itself (incl "young")",
"newly acquired by some relevant entity", and "as yet unexperienced".
But I don't think an IAL needs to make such fine distinctions.

Maybe I need to base the 'new' root on 'recent.'

That could be good.
