One change I made was to abandon the Loglan paradigm, vi-va-vu (at, near, far from) in favor of ci-ca-cu (by speaker, by speakee, remote from both) and now I'm feeling the need to extend the ci-series so we'll have the other possibilities. But I don't just want more c-words. I think we need to do this. Go dorm ci. I sleep here. Go dorm ca. I sleep there (by you) Go dorm cu. I sleep over there. Okay, now we need to make compounds. Go dorm X ci. I sleep near here. Go dorm X ca. ...near by you, Go dorm X cu. I sleep nearby over there. I already have jilu-near and juli-far. Will those do? Go dorm jiluci. I sleep near here. Go dorm julica. I sleep far from there by you. Go dorm julicu. I sleep far from over there. At first I thought I needed one-syllable roots, but then maybe not. jilu and juli can also be 'free modifiers' like ci-ca-cu, because the default will be ci. That is: Go dwel jilu = go dwel jiluci. All make sense? I'm going to have to make myself some flash cards. -- Rex F.
