But then the subject of the sentence has to be one of the arguments to
the predicate that you make into a modal. Consider "because" ("ki'u" in
Lojban). You are not the cause, and you are not the effect, yet you can
attach "because" to a sentence in the same way.

You're also relying on argument order rules so that "te krajon" falls
into x2, but those don't make sense in modals because there is only one
argument.
