Current C(C)V(V) predicates

Here's a list of the predicates which would have to be changed if the
pi(n)vor system were C(C)V(V), and suggestions for what to change them
to. It seems to me that the words which really should be short wouldn't
suffer from being changed slightly, and many of these words are
unnecessary or redundant.

To come up with some of these, I used a modified version of the
algorithm that created the Lojban words from the source languages
Chinese, English, Spanish, Hindi, Russian, and Arabic. I also considered
the Lojban words themselves, since they should reflect indirectly those
source languages.

CV:
ba (bad) -> bal
  (This is good - I think "ba" should be the future particle, partly
  because it's like that in Lojban, and partly because I like how it
  sounds like Spanish "va".)
ga (large) -> gra (or gran)
gu (group) -> gru
ho (become) -> biho
  (mix of English "become", Hindi "ho", Lojban "binxo")
pe (person) -> per
pi (small) -> pin
vi (vehicle) -> vim

Are the 7 words above really worth working around?

CVV:
bua (Buddha) -> buha
bwa (drink) -> driq
dei (day) -> den
  (The Lojban etymology file has "dyen" for Russian "day")
dia (light time) -> soltaim
  (compound; "sol" is currently listed as "soldier" but would be much more
  appropriate as "sun")
[d]ja (go): ven ("go" is the same as "come" using place structures)
gai (cover) -> gahi
hai (high) -> gal (from Lojban)
hau (rightly): just use a word for "proper"
kau (cause) ->
  agentive: gan (from Lojban) [change Ceqli "gan" to "gana"]
    (this is the one that shows up most in compounds)
  describing an event: karin
   (derived from source languages the same way as Lojban; this also
   happens to be an anagram of Lojban "rinka")
pau (foot) -> pamu
pya (new) -> cino (Chinese "cin", Lojban "cnino")
vei (west) -> prar (Hindi)

CCV:
[d]ju (tool) -> be ploy
sta (located) -> stal
stu (sit) -> sen (Spanish)
stei (remain, stay, still) -> stel

CCVV:
[d]jai (place): be stal
[d]joi (enjoy): feli (same place structure)
spei (outer space): spehi
  (doesn't need to be one syllable)
