I say if you want them to be two syllables, you should spell them <buwa> and <duwa>. I suppose <uw> and <iy> do have purposes. (So in the same way, 'ciyo' would be fine, because it would be two syllables as distinguished with 'cyo' which would be one - if it's allowed at all.) -- Rob Speer
