Emegali /y/ in the Verb Paradigm

Idgud Khabarakhe:
Greetings! I thought that info on Emegali, since it has a Semitic
structure, could go here.
Emegali /y/ [j] causes some peculiarities in verb forms.
In closed syllables (CVC/VC):
ay > e, very rarely a' /a?/
iy > i: /i:/, more rarely i' /i?/
The allophone of /y/ before /u/ in closed syllables is /'/ [?]
(aleph):
uy > u' ('= aleph)
Examples:
		Y = 1		Y = 2		Y = 3
S-r-d `mix'	y-S-d `join'	S-y-d `recite'	b-l-y `go back'
