Re: [saweli] Subjunctive / Infinitive / Judgement / Subsequence / Topicalizat...

The structure is very similar, but not exactly the same. Your sentence would be in my notation:

Mi vidis ke li falis. - I saw that he fell.

V: vidi
P: mi
F:
   (V: fali
   P: li)

So the final bracket in this case stands after "li", not before it.

Please note, that we only know that the speaker saw something that made him understand that "he fell". The speaker may not have seen both the falling nor "him".

Mi vidis lin fali. - I saw him falling.

V: vidi
P: mi
F:
   (V: fali
   P:) li

This is my sentence again. The speaker saw him and that made him understand that the observee was falling. In German this could be paraphrased as "Ich sah ihm an, dass er fiel."

Mi vidis lian faladon. - I saw his falling.

V: vidi
P: mi
F:
   V: fali
   P: li

Mi vidis la falanton. - I saw the falling man.

V: vidi
P: mi
F:
   P: li/la
   V: fali

Mi vidis _lin_ fali. - I saw _him_ falling.

V: vidi
P: mi
F:
   (P: li/la
   V:) fali

ekzemple, la senco de la frazo "mi
vidis lin fali" povas esti ankaux frazigita tiel "pri li, mi vidis ke li
falis" aux "mi vidis ke li _falis_." Sed la semantika strukturo, kiun mi
prezentis, estas cxiam la sama.

V: vidi
P: mi
F:
   (V: fali
   P:) li

Sxajnas al mi, ke tia strukturo estas ekzakte tia de Saweli:

Vehab yaras wo'akonzyub yatas = I saw him fall. (lit.: I saw that he fell.)
