With a bit of tongue-in-cheek conlanging you could age Latin words for “Spatz” ‘sparrow’ and “Knopf” ‘button’. I’ve found a number of Latin words for ‘sparrow’, such as <fringilla>, <fringuilla>, <fringillus>, <passer>, <passercula> and <passerculus>. Also the word ‘being for sparrows, intended for sparrows’: <passerīni>. I don’t know what the outcome of the latter would be in your respective Romlangs, but in my Neo-Vegliot the latter would be *passerain. Here are some ‘button’ words: I quite like <malleolus> ~ <malliolus>. I can almost see the name on a dark blue Barilla-box: <Mallioli> ‘little hammers’; or maybe <nōdōsus> ‘having knots, gnarled’. I would like to find a translation for "Spätzle" or "Knöpfle". [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
