I too sometimes find Latin got to many strange influences. If you have text in your alternative language please send me them and I try to understand them. I often read text in languages I did not learn.
Sorry! That little "Widêmos nuke per spekolom þûmântim" thing in Kûriac is probably the longest actual bit of text I attempted to compose in any of my "Alternative Italic" languages. Because the languages were constructed to support a fiction project, almost everything I have consists of terms or names, and virtually everything is nouns and adjectives (I haven't needed many verbs, etc.). I have more background history for the speakers of these languages mapped out than I do of the languages themselves!
I do sometimes use the opening lines of R.E. Howard's "Nemedian Chronicles" epigraph (from the beginning of "The Phoenix on the Sword"; I ought to have a go at that in one or more of my "Aqileian" languages. I'd have to think more about the verbs, though, then! :)
