Perhaps something like the following would work:

no. *potêr(e) *potêrês/*potêrî
ge./da. *potêrî *potêrîs
ac. *potêre *potêrês

I just looked it up: I seem to have come to similar conclusions in

My sound changes run mainly on a CL vocab (because that's the dictionary I have...) and start with a few changes to make the vocab at little easier on the Germanic tongue - giving me, if you like, a "Northern VL" parallel to the VL that developed elsewhere - before striking off on its own down the High German path.

On that basis, starting from my own "NVL" I came up with the following

Late Latin ("NVL") Proto-N Rom Old Rinench Mid Rinench Mod Rinench Nom S/P pote:r / pote:ri: poter / - - Acc S/P pote:ru / pote:ro:s poter / - - Dir S/P - - posser / possieri posser / possier@ posser / possi:r@ Gen S/P pote:ri: / pote:ro:ru pote:ri su / pote:rur possierisu / possierur possieris@ / possier@r possi:ri:s@ / possi:r@r Dat S/P pote:ro: / pote:ri:z pote:ru / pote:ri possieru / possieri possier@ / possier@ possi:r@ / possi:r@
