Re: [romconlang] Auxiliary Romlangs VS Artistic Romlangs

I'm often fed up with reading
their hundred-page grammars and vocabularies. People making them
often forget the fact that someone can be interested in learning
them! I ask sometimes people about it and they just tell me they
don't care about making people learn it.

I was re-reading this and something about this statement bothers me.
It feels just like the arguements that non-conlangers give against
conlanging "Why would you create something that isn't useful? Isn't
that a waste of time?"

This is why we split into two camps. Auxlangers see language as
something that should be useful, while artlangers see it as something
that is what it is. It's not supposed to be anything but what the
creator intends. I mean afterall, if we were to say all art had to be
useful, we'd have nothing but realism.

I also missed that last line in my original response. No, I *don't*
care about "making" people learn my languages. Why would i? I'm so
fickle about them that I'm STILL settling on a few sounds in
Montreiano (trying not to ruin what's already out there). Why should I
make someone learn what I create? I ain't their momma!
