It was originally sprawled on the back of the camel it is mauling on the King of Sicily's coronation robe. I liked the style of the thing since it seemed rather more exotic than the run of the mill lion rampant -- more Eastern, which is something the Normans in the south really seemed to go for. Several of them learned to speak the Greek and Arabic of their subjects. One seems to have kept a harrem!! Several had no particular use for fellow Frenchmen at court preferring Italians, Greeks and Arabs there. I know the posture is attrocious. I'll have to try to figure out how to draw a proper lion rampant in that style if I choose to keep him. For now it's just cut and paste. Even that took hours. (Computer dies every thirty minutes.)
