IMO one of the main reasons there are so few
Germano-Romance conlangs is that most of the
Germanic languages already have their vocabularies
shot through with Romance material (Icelandic and
Yiddish being the main exceptions and English
being the extreme example). The conlang that
comes closest to Anglo-Romance is in fact
Jespersen's IAL Novial, which was/is largely
a Romance vocabulary grafted on an English
grammar (not a bad idea for a pan-European
IAL IMHO).
