My imaginary speakers live in the present day area called the Kaliningrad Oblast of Russia, which is between Lithuania and Poland. It used to be East Prussia. The major city there is Kaliningrad which in German was called Ko:nigsberg. There was a period of time when Rome did occupy this area. They called Kaliningrad, Regiomontum. As near as I can tell that name was used for the region as well. I used that name as the basis for the English word Regimonti It is my understanding that when a vulgar Latin speaking people were surrounded by non-Romans, the name of their language tends to be dervied from either "Roman" (Romanian is simply Romana) or from "Latin" (Ladin) Rumans,a was how I chose to name the language. I'm truly delighted to know that you like the look of the language. Hope this helps. Yet, I still don't fully understand the name of the language. Is Regimonti a geographical denomination and Rumans,a an ethnical? Where do your imaginary speakers live?
