Nah, the Franciens probably borrowed the term via German.  However in
modern usage "slévanique" is the adjective referring to the country,
while an inhabitant is either "un Slévan" or "un Slévanien" similar
to native and English usage.  The Germans of course say "slewanisch"
and "Slewanier".
