IMO that's taking things too far -- it is *never* a waste of time to seriously learn *any* language, be it natural or constructed. Did I waste my time learning Talossan, when there's only one other person on earth (so far) with whom I can talk or correspond in it? No, because it adds something of value, beauty and fun to my life.
