Oh, but that shouldn't necessarily mean that the language cannot be used for
secular purpose, should it?

I'm not so sure. I have never made an a priori language myself, but it seems
hard to be always fully dependent on your own inspiration. Besides, there are
numerous traps to be avoided (like recreating the same favourite word all the
time).

Any type of conlang has its own problems in word creation. In the case of
Wenedyk, my main problem was that I want the vocabulary to be based on Vulgar
Latin and not on Classical Latin. Hence, my Latin dictionaries are of little
use. Often, I work with four dictionaries at hand: Classical Latin, French,
Italian, and Romanian. Sometimes Portuguese or Rhaeto-Romance, too.

At this moment, I am trying to resurrect my North-Slavic conlang Vozgian.
Based, of course, on Common Slavic. The difficulty with this language is that I
need to find not only Common Slavic roots, but I also must know which syllable
is stressed. Especially the latter makes it hard. As a result I have to consult
both Russian, Ukrainian and Bulgarian dictionaries.

Life is not easy for a conlanger...
