Cool stuff so far. Padraic: Very intriguing. Gotta love the way your people never seem able to say something without swearing and insulting the English. ;-) I still can't wrap my mind around the pronunciation though... for example, I can't see why |d| sometimes palatizes to [Z] (e.g. |decki|) and sometimes doesn't (|depon|), or why |z| can be both [D] (|faz|) and [z] (|Zawzen|), or when nasalisation of the vowel occurs. Dan: Very Germanic. The affricatives and the final [f] give it an original taste. Is |pfutzan| a nominative form like "putain" or is the -n accusative? A transitive verb "to be" would be quite unusual for a romlang. Barry: Very Spanish! In fact, I think I could understand most of it without subtitles, although I don't know much Spanish. =) I assume AC = Alta California? Jan: Very Polish indeed! (Not that I know any Polish...) I think I'd have a hard time distinguishing those special Polish sibilant phonemes [s\ z\] from [S Z] and [s z]. It would be even worse if |rz| were that Czech trilled [r_j]. (Hint, hint... ;-) Jan criviva: > That makes 11 new words. Thanks, Christian! Tuu servu. =) -- Christian Thalmann
