Yes.  The English sentence is passive because English doesn't have an
exact equivalent for "matemba".

Compare with these:

    Pasesku letungo pinde lenango =
      The bicycles were bought before the boats.

    Masesku letungo pinde lenango =
      The bicycles sold before the boats.
