Only thing I can think of is to use 'ke', which is natural for a declarative.

go jan ke da sta cu.   I know he's there.

Feels awkward for an interrogative, but why not?

go jan ke cuba bi kwa.

In an instance like this, 'ke' might be taken to mean 'the answer to:'  I don't see any threat
of ambiguity here, do you?


No, I think that's a good idea.  That is, in fact, the essence of the way Latejami does it.
