Having said all this, I should add that my biggest problem with attitudinals is that their form implies a similarity of function which isn't there. We already have the question-forming word, 'kyu'. And we may have a couple more pinvor equivalent to other attitudinals of Log/Loj. But for the most part, no. I think many could be parallel to such an English structure as "The man saw the dog and (joy!) rescued him.' That is, a parenthetical insertion that inserts an aside that has to do with the sentence, but doesn't affect it's truth value. Like "I lost my book, darn it!" "I lost my book, hooray!" In both cases the truth value isn't affected by the attitudinal. The attitudinal simply expresses the speaker's emotional reaction to what the sentence expresses. -- >PLEASE NOTE MY NEW E-MAIL ADDRESS: rmay@hidden.email > Rex F.
